Truvalle History
At the R.N.A Show Sale in 1961, J.N. Wilson purchased Mungalla King followed by the purchase of Mungalla Duke at the 1962 R.N.A Show Sale.
In June 1962, 108 Brahman cross heifers in calf, were purchased in Central Queensland. J.N. Wilson joined the Society in August 1962. The progeny of the Brahman cross heifers were very impressive and in 1965 fourteen Bellevue registered Droughtmaster heifers were acquired.
In 1966 Truvalle Stud was registered with the owners being J.N & F.B Wilson and the Stud located at "The Valley", Blackbutt. At the 1966 Rockhampton Droughtmaster Sale, Rainbow Texas 3rd was added and at the 1967 R.N.A Show Sale, the top priced Droughtmaster bull, Valley Chief, was purchased. The partnership later was changed to J.N. Wilson & Son, when their son, Peter, joined the partnership.
At the Droughtmaster Feature Show for 1972, Truvalle Stud took the award for Grand Champion Bull with Truvalle Dalkeith, Grand Champion Female with Truvalle Fleur, and won the Breeders 
Group section.
Truvalle continued their successes in the Burnett and the Brisbane Valley show rings, at Droughtmaster Feature Shows, The Futurity, and at the Brisbane R.N.A. In 1974, Truvalle Cain led the Droughtmaster breed in the National "Sire of the Year" contest sponsored by the Queensland Country Life and Country Life (N.S.W), coming second to the winner of the contest, a Santa Gertrudis sire, King Ranch K179.
Also, in 1974 Truvalle Fabian was Grand Champion Bull at the Brisbane R.N.A. He was sold to the Kengoon Stud for $4900 at the Stud's first annual production sale on October 12th that year. Truvalle Fabian went on to become National Droughtmaster Sire of the Year in 1977 and 1978. In 1974, Sunny View Droughtmaster Stud bought Truvalle Fancy, the beginning of their successful Sunny View Fancy line.
In 1985, at the Gympie Droughtmaster Female Sale, Truvalle Nelly with calf at foot, sold at a record price of $4800 to the Mimosa Stud and Cattle Co, Gayndah. In 1989, again at the Gympie Droughtmaster Female Sale, Truvalle Adelaide, a 17-month heifer, sold for a world record price of $10,000 to Jaybees Stud, Mt. Larcom.
Truvalle Stud has purchased bulls from Studs such as Delaney, Strathfield, Billabong, Glen Houghton, Alcheringa, Clonlara, Canelands, Valley, Minlacowie, Swan, Coolalinga, Wingfield, Woodbine, Alma, Garthowen, Huntly, Dalmally,Talgai and Lorandale.
With the passing of Peter Wilson in 2002, and the dissolving of the partnership with Margaret's son, Cameron, Truvalle Stud is now run by Peter's wife, Margaret, and her partner, Peter's cousin, Alexander (Sandy) Hammond.
Truvalle continues to purchase top quality sires, such as Wingfield Krypton in 1993 at the 34th Annual Droughtmaster Sale at Rockhampton for $28,000, and in 1999 at the Rockhampton National Droughtmaster Bull and Female Sale, Garthowen Farnham 2, for $23,000. Talgai Apache was purchased for $25,000 at the 2005 National Droughtmaster Bull & Female Sale. Sire of Apache is Talgai Impact 951 sold at the 2002 National Droughtmaster Sale for $60,000.
At the Droughtmaster National Sale in 2014,Truvalle proved its consistency of quality by averaging over $10,000 for 6 young two year old potential sires. This consistency of the quality of the Truvalle cattle was evident in being awarded the Champion Female Heifer award at The 30th Annual Droughtmaster Futurity Show held at Gatton in 2015. Margaret's late husband, Peter, was one of the original Founders of this Show.
Margaret was awarded Life Membership of the Droughtmaster Society in 2015.
